The Social Committee held its first event at the Pool with a BBQ from Rodney’s on Saturday, August  31.   It was fun to meet with some on our residents and enjoy conversation, great food and drink.    We were happy the weather cooperated.    If you did not attend we hope you will stop by our next event.  Seaboard Township’s first garage sale was held the weekend of September 13th.    We had several homes participate and plenty of traffic.   If you are interested in scheduling another garage sale in the Spring please let us know email at seaboardtownship@gmail.com.

OUR NEXT SOCIAL EVENT IS HOLIDAY DECORATING – Calling all adults!!!    Join us Saturday, December 7th, at 1PM to help decorate the subdivision entrance for the holiday season.    HOA will provide snacks and beverage for participants.  All we need are your helping hands!!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED – WE ARE SEEKING VOLUNTEERS FOR A NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH.   We have had several issues in the neighborhood involving the local police. Protect your investment.   If you are interested please e-mail us at seaboardtownship@gmail.com.

HOA BOARD MEETING UPDATES

Gutters have been cleaned; repainting of exteriors will be determined by board and owners notified, paint colors available at Porter Paints in Hiram.  Window replaced at pool house; leak repaired in pool; RGS adding rain sensor to irrigation system.   Remember…..trash cans to be removed immediately after trash pickup.

FALL RECIPE - Ruth Chris’ Sweet Potato Casserole – makes 6-8 servings

Ingredients

3 cups mashed sweet potatoes (can use canned to save time, drain)

1 cup sugar

½ teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon vanilla

2 eggs (well beaten)

½ cup butter melted

 

Topping

1 cup brown sugar

1/3 cup flour

1 cup chopped nuts (pecans preferred) – optional

¼ cup melted butter

 

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Combine sweet potatoes, sugar, salt, vanilla, eggs and butter in a mixing bowl in the order listed.  Pour mixture into buttered baking dish.  To create topping, combine brown sugar, flour, nuts (optional) and butter in a separate mixing bowl.  Sprinkle the surface of the sweet potato mixture evenly with the topping.  Bake for 30 minutes.  Remove from oven allow to set for at least 30 minutes before serving.
